Student calendar guide
Turn a syllabus into calendar events without retyping every deadline.
The standard .ics export works with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook. The safe workflow is upload, review, export, then verify the imported calendar. Apple also has an optional private subscription method, but the product is not Apple-only.
1. Choose a readable course document
Use a text-based PDF, Word (.docx), or PowerPoint (.pptx) file up to 4 MB. Scanned image-only PDFs may not contain readable text and can produce incomplete results.
2. Review every extracted date
Compare assignments, quizzes, midterms, finals, deadlines, times, and locations with the original syllabus. Correct ambiguous dates and exclude items you do not want. AI can miss or misread information.
3. Choose reminders
Select reminder timing for assignments, quizzes, midterms, finals, and other deadlines. The reminders are written into the calendar data; your calendar app delivers them after import.
4. Export or subscribe
Download a standard .ics calendar file for local use. On supported Apple devices, you can alternatively create a private read-only subscription snapshot. The original course document is not stored with that snapshot.
Apple Calendar
On Mac, open the downloaded .ics file with Calendar and choose the destination calendar. On iPhone or iPad, follow the on-screen Apple Mail import instructions or use the optional read-only subscription link. Always confirm the events appeared before trying again.
Google Calendar
On the Google Calendar desktop website, open Settings, choose Import & export, select the downloaded .ics file, and choose the destination calendar. Review the imported events for duplicates.
Outlook Calendar
In Outlook on the web or desktop, use the calendar import/upload option and select the .ics file. Choose the intended calendar and inspect the result before repeating the import.
